FARO donation initiative in Guinea - Rok with kids in Brouadou, Guinea

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

FARO donation initiative in Guinea happened in 2009 during my trip around West Africa. It was a wonderful beginning, and it has continued through many projects in my FARO organization.

Brouadou is located 12 kilometers from Kissidougou, in southeast Guinea. With around 1,800 inhabitants, most of whom make a living with simple agriculture, it is a typical African village, surrounded by lush vegetation. Electricity and portable water are project for distant future. The education of children is in the hands of local authorities, volunteers and charitable organizations.

The community of Brouadou represented a turning point in my view and understanding of Africa.

The incredible energy of the children, who excitedly ran on the pathway way under mango trees to the school in the morning, chatting kindly and greeting me, impressed me and filled with happiness.

The first FARO donation initiative in Guinea, which laid the foundation for future activities, was the donation of school supplies in January 2009. After raising money with friends and family in Slovenia, I bought educational material, books and sports equipment. Accompanied by the school director and sister Justine, who runs the local clinic and pharmacy, I donated the goods in the name of all donors to the elementary school in Brouadou.

FARO donation initiative in Guinea is part of FARO, a voluntary program fully funded by donors. It aims to improve life for marginalized children in developing countries. You can learn more about FARO by reading the information at this link.
