We successfully carried out another children’s gift-giving campaign, this time in Nepal. We raised almost 700 US$. The gifts were purchased in Nepal and handed to the local community by my mother.
We provided support to a group of Nepalese orphans who lost their parents at a very early age. They live in a shelter with the family of a Christian pastor. We provided them with warm clothes, sports equipment, school supplies and partially replaced worn-out equipment in the kitchen. We also treated the children with some sweets. My Mom tested out the sports equipment during a shared afternoon game.
Surprise, gratitude and immense joy will be etched in the memories of all participants of the activity for a long time.
